Ovatko tutkanpaljastimet laillisia?

Kysymykseen siitä, ovatko tutkanpaljastimet laillisia, ei voida vastata yhtenäisesti Euroopassa. On maita, joissa tutkanpaljastimien käyttö on laillista, kun taas toisissa EU-maissa ainoastaan häirintätuotteiden käyttö on kielletty. Toisissa maissa sallitaan vain tutkanilmaisimet, jotka ilmoittavat GPS:n kautta kiinteistä nopeusvalvontakameroista, mutta ei tutkanvastaanottimia.

AustriaXGPS devices with a POI warner as an "announcement function" are permitted. Radar warning devices that can be used to influence or interfere with technical traffic monitoring equipment are prohibited. These may neither be attached to nor carried on motor vehicles. Violators face an administrative fine of up to 5,000 euros and the device will be confiscated.
