Aguri
Avoid penalty points and speeding fines with an Aguri speed camera detector.
Aguri range of speed camera detectors offers world class leading laser and radar detection and designed specifically for the UK & Europe. Our speed camera detectors come preloaded with our latest speed trap database, so you can start using them straight out of the box.
Providing warnings of HADECS3, SPECS average speed cameras, SMART motorway cameras, GATSO, TRUVELO, DS2 and WATCHMAN speed traps plus 1000s of locations where mobile speed traps and laser police vans are often used. Compatible with PC & Mac. No more speeding tickets with FREE speed trap updates for life.
The best known and still most common speed measurement method is certainly using a radar trap. But there are also other measurement methods that are not carried out using radar. It is therefore worth finding out in advance to avoid disappointment with the scope of protection.
Because other measurement methods, such as low power radar (MRCD, MRCT, GATSO), lasers or passive measurements via ESO (single-sided sensor) or section control are now also frequently used in Europe. Some of these new measurement methods can be detected with good mobile radar detectors. With the passive methods, if they are used mobile, it becomes more difficult. That is why we offer our complete packages for perfect all-round protection.

The question whether radar detectors are legal cannot be answered uniformly in Europe. There are countries where the use of radar detectors is legal, while in other EU countries only the use of jammers is prohibited. Other countries only allow radar detectors that report fixed speed cameras via GPS, but not radar receivers.
Please check the legal situation for your country below (all information without any guarantee of correctness, please doublecheck your local legislation) or ask us if you have any question before you order a radar detector.
Land | POI radar detector allowed | Radar Detector Ownership allowed | Radar Detector Use allowed | Jamming Use allowed | Notes |
Austria | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | X | GPS devices with a POI warner as an "announcement function" are permitted. Radar warning devices that can be used to influence or interfere with technical traffic monitoring equipment are prohibited. These may neither be attached to nor carried on motor vehicles. Violators face an administrative fine of up to 5,000 euros and the device will be confiscated. |
Belgium | ✓ | X | Fines or imprisonment from 15 days to three months. Doubling of the penalty in case of a repeat offence. The device is confiscated and destroyed. POI function is allowed.
Bulgaria | X | Fine | |||
Czech Republic | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ | X | Only devices that make measurement impossible or interfere with it (interferers) are prohibited. Fine from 5,000 to 10,000 kroner (approx. 200-400 euros) |
Denmark | X | Fine | |||
Finland | X | X | The fine for a speeding offence is 100-115 Euros for a speeding offence of up to 20 km/h. For a minor traffic offence, the maximum fine is 50 euros. For serious speeding offences and for other traffic violations, the fine is determined according to the income of the driver Income.
France | ✓ | X | X | X | Fine. The device will be confiscated. If necessary, confiscation of the vehicle in the case of permanently installed devices. The POI function is permitted if it generally indicates danger spots at a sufficient distance. However, the clear and direct indication of radar measuring points is prohibited. |

If you have read how radar detectors work – then you know which radar warning options are possible and which are not. You also know that a 70%-90% protection from speed cameras and speeding fines can be achieved with a radar detector and can save a lot of money in the future.
How to define the best radar detector from the technical side? Most important features:
Radar detector devices (windshield and custom install radar detectors) offer depending upon price range the following most important technical differences to consider:
- Radar detection performance and sensitivity (to check: radar antenna sensitivity & sensor size)
- More precise radar frequency setting for more accurate results (to check: frequency setting options)
- Low Power Radar Reception of latest generation (to check: MRCD MRCT GATSO detection)
- False alarm filters such as radar based assistance systems in vehicles (to check: filter options/false alert performance)
- GPS technology for speed dependent alarms and fixed speed cameras (to check: GPS options and POI Database)
- Laser detection – is 360° laser detection on board? (read: why laser can not be detected as good as radar)
- Radar detector reliability, support & updates (check: how good is the product support and POI Database)

The biggest difference between radar and laser: laser, unlike radar, is not permanently emitted and therefore cannot be detected in time. The automated laser measuring systems have a working range, i.e. a distance between 25-75m from which they become active and can only be detected then. In addition a laser measurement usually takes a fraction of a second. And last but not least: the laser beam itself is very thin and can only be detected if it hits the sensor to be detected.
These are all factors why even the best portable radar detectors usually cannot help optimally.
Laser Jammer: That’s why there are the installation laser systems. Not only do they detect lasers much more effectively, but they are also able to stop laser measurement. See also our radar detectors installation videos on our radar-shop.com or our radar-shop youtube channel.
